How do I set custom open and close times on the automatic door?
For most users, door customization should not be required. For advanced users that would like more control of the door, see #Advanced-Customization
Did You Know?
The door works in DEFAULT FACTORY MODE if not configured differently by the user. The door will automatically open in the morning and close at nightfall due to the light sensor.
Setting the OPEN ☀️ Time with the Button
You can use the BUTTON to set the door to OPEN at a specific time. Please hold the button for 3 SECONDS. When the indicator light shines GREEN, release the button and immediately press it again to confirm it. The door automatically detects your TIME (zone) and sets the opening at the exact time when you pressed the button.
For example, you want the door to open every day at 8 a.m. At precisely 8 o’clock press and hold the BUTTON until you see the GREEN light, then release and immediately press the button again.
Extending the Default CLOSE 🌚 time by 20 Minutes
You can manually set the door to CLOSE later than 20 minutes after NIGHTFALL by using the BUTTON. Please hold the button for 5 SECONDS. When the indicator light shines RED, release the button and then press it again to confirm it. The door will close 40 minutes after nightfall (closing will be extended for 20 minutes).
For example: Use the above function, if you mounted the door in locations with less daylight and the door closes before nightfall, or if you have a specific breed of chicken that needs to stay outside longer.
Advanced Customization
Setting Precise Open/Close Times Using GPS Mode
If you would like to set a precise open and close time, removing the dependency on the light sensor, you can physically "flash a custom program" to the door. This is intended for advanced users who are comfortable with mechanically programming a By using the configurator tool below, you will place your mobile phone's screen on top of the door's light sensor, using a sequence of binary light emission
The Door Configurator (a static webpage, not to be confused with the application) converts your selection to a series of blinking 1s and 0s, it does not connect to the internet, the door, or your account. Programming the door requires placing your phone's screen over the physical light sensor of the door.
The configurator cannot display the status of your door. If you refresh the page, the tool will reset. The tool is used to convert your selections and generate a "punch card" that is fed to the mechanical door via an analog process using light.
- From any mobile web browser, launch the Door Configurator. This tool is a static webpage and can be used entirely offline if required.
- Select your door open/close preferences. Under advanced settings, enable GPS Mode.
